Tardiness- late to class under 20 minutes; more than 20 minutes will be considered an absence.
Mr. Curtis writes
I see three problems. First, 3 tardies to one class = 3 tardies x 8 classes = a total of 24 times late--that's a habit; and habits are hard to change.
Second, the discipline seems too light. a student may be late 6 times in one class before a substantial penalty is incurred.
Third, from a teacher point of view, after 20 minutes as an absence isn't feasable to enforce. Late is late, absent is not present.
From the Supplemental Table of Consequences:
1st Offense Written warning: 15 Minute Detention
2nd Offense Parent notification; 30 Minute Detention
3rd Offense Parent notification; One Hour Detention
From the Glossary:
Tardiness- late to class under 20 minutes; more than 20 minutes will be considered an absence.
